FIFA Offside Rule (Under 12 and Above)
Having just watched an Under 12 game over the weekend I was reminded of how difficult the offside rule can be to both players and parents who have just moved to the FIFA rules from Rooball. I have therefore provided links to a couple of sites to help explain this rule.
1. FIFA Website - this is a pdf document with the full rules of soccer. The Offside rule can be found on Page 34 and there are a number of diagrammatic examples starting on page 60.
2. http://www.dynamic-thought.com/OffsideClickette.html - this is a fairly easy to follow animation of the rule.
Small Sided Games for 2012
In 2011 U/6, U/7, U/8, U/9, U/10 and U/11 divisions will all compete under the SSG rules which can be found on www.footballaustralia.com.au Click on Game Development and then Optus Small Sided Football. If you are involved with any of these divisions please take the time to read the rules.
